On 31 January, USA Today quoted MG Najim Abed Al-Jabourey, now a Distinguished Research Fellow at NESA on the effect of recent candidate disqualifications on elections and Iraq’s future in “Excluding candidates 'could move Iraq backward.’” MG Al-Jabourey is a former police chief and mayor of Tel Afar in Iraq’s Nineveh Province.
