Forty civilian and military participants from 17 countries and the US are participate in NESA’s Strategic Communications, Public Diplomacy and Media Management seminar that started at July 12, 2010. Distinguished Professor AMB James A. Larocco is directing the two-week seminar that examines the “war of ideas” as a crucial front in countering extremism and terrorism worldwide. The second week will focus on an exercise that requires the participants to produce a five-year strategic communications, media management, and public diplomacy plan to counter terrorism and extremism. A number of US senior civilian and military policy makers will address the seminar, and visits are scheduled to Capitol Hill, Defense Information School, the Newseum and the Voice of America.
