Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs PME Engagement

The Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs is undergoing a significant reorganization aimed at enhancing its logistics, organization, and processes. A dedicated team of senior leaders has been appointed to focus on these improvements while prioritizing the professional development of the entire force. As part of this effort, the Near East South Asia (NESA) Center for Strategic Studies recently welcomed a delegation led by the Peshmerga Chief of Staff at National Defense University in Washington, D.C., on 26 September 2024. Together, they engaged in meaningful discussions about the importance of Professional Military Education in the United States Armed Forces, as well as the NESA Center’s supportive role in helping regional partners strengthen their educational programs. Several members of the delegation are proud alumni of the NESA Center’s annual Iraq Capstone Seminar, held each summer.
