LTG (Ret.) Terry Wolff

LTG (Ret.) Terry Wolff is a Distinguished Professor at the Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies. He most recently served as the Director of the NESA Center from June 2014 to June 2023. During this time, he also served for 39 months (November 2015 to February 2019) as the Deputy Special Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS. In 2022, he was detailed to the National Security Council, first as Special Advisor for Ukraine Security Assistance, and then as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for the Middle East and North Africa.

LTG Wolff retired from the U.S. Army in February 2014 after more than 34 years of service. He commanded at every level from platoon to armored division. His final military assignment was as Director of Strategic Plans and Policy (J-5) on the Joint Staff from September 2011 to December 2013.
