Royal Jordanian National Defense College Academic Workshop

From 19–21 November 2024, the Near East South Asia (NESA) Center for Strategic Studies facilitated a three-day workshop for the Commandant of the Royal Jordanian National Defense College (RJNDC) and senior faculty held at the U.S. National Defense University in Washington, D.C. The Commandant and his team met one-on-one with U.S. National Defense University peers to review curriculum development best practices, outcome-based professional military education delivery, the conduct of seminars, and the development of new faculty to prepare for classroom instruction. As part of the program, the RJNDC delegation engaged with representatives from the National War College, The Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy, the College of International Security Affairs, The Institute for National Security Studies, and the Center for Applied Strategic Learning. This initiative was conducted in support of the memorandum of understanding between the NESA Center and the RJNDC. Looking ahead, NESA Center faculty will meet RJNDC counterparts in Amman, Jordan, in January 2025 to deliver subject matter expert presentations tailored to the Commandant and faculty requests.
