On 28 June 2024, the Near East South Asia (NESA) Center for Strategic Studies hosted approximately 85 students and faculty from the Air Command and Staff College. The group convened at Fort McNair in Washington, D.C., where they participated in a series of briefings and discussions. Dr. Gawdat Bahgat, a professor at the NESA Center, led the seminar and provided an in-depth analysis of security dynamics in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, while Dr. Roger Kangas, the NESA Center’s Academic Dean, presented on the topic of global power competition. After a break for lunch, Dr. Nate Allen, a professor at the Africa Center for Strategic Studies (ACSS), spoke on security dynamics in Africa. Concluding the event, Dr. David Spencer, a professor at the William J. Perry Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies, delivered insights into security challenges facing Latin America and South America.
