On 29th September 2020, the NESA center hosted His Excellency Stavros Lambrinidis, Ambassador of the European Union to the United States, for a roundtable discussion moderated by NESA faculty member Dr. Gawdat Bahgat. The discussion focused primarily on EU strategic policy and the importance of the special relationship between the United States and the European Union. Participants also briefly touched on global disinformation, and international methods of countering its spread. NESA faculty were able to pose straightforward questions on European policy on regional security and join in some not-for-attribution conversation with the Ambassador.

His Excellency Stavros Lambrinidis has served as the Ambassador of the European Union to the United States since March 2019. Previously, he has served as the EU Special Representative for Human Rights, and briefly as EU Minister for Foreign Affairs.
