Support to Saudi Arabian National Defence University: Implementing the Strategic Plan, Media Visit

From 20–22 Jan 2026, the Near East South Asia (NESA) Center for Strategic Studies team who are forward deployed as advisors to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia National Defense University (KSA NDU), hosted an exploratory visit for the KSA NDU Media Department. The aim was to provide our partners with a sampling of best practices in policy, procedure, staff training, corporate branding, museum curation, continuous improvement and in several technical areas of practice. Participants included the KSA NDU Director of Media and Museums, his second in command, and his team.

The group was fortunate enough to benefit from the great relationships between NESA and NDU, calling on the knowledge and experience of Director NDU P, Col (Retd.) Eliason. Dean Library and Learning Center, Dr Ramaswamy. Multimedia Branch Chief, Mr. Hinton, Jr. Chief Academic Services, Ms. Casey. Special Collections Curator, Ms. Gardner. Assistant Professor of Writing and Communication Dr. Denman. Participants also explored artifacts and there meaning to military personnel at the National Army Museum where veterans hosted and learned about Saudi Vision 2030. The program concluded with discussions on implementation, growing relationships and communities of practice, and next steps in KSA. Looking ahead, the NESA Center plans to assist other components of the KSA NDU to establish and enhance policies and practices throughout 2026.
