From 15 – 26 June 2026, the Near East South Asia (NESA) Center for Strategic Studies delivered an International Faculty Development Program. The program supported faculty and leadership from Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Indonesia, Jordan, Oman and Pakistan, to prepare for roles in Senior Professional Military Education (PME) establishments around the world.

The group studied adult learning and motivational principles; cognitive levels of PME, US PME concepts, models and teaching practices, including assessing and providing feedback. The group was also fortunate enough to benefit from the expertise of the wider NDU community, receiving lessons on teaching Joint All-Domains Operations from Dr Bryan Leese, Director of Curriculum of JCWS.  Dr Katy Denmam, Dr Kate Kuehn, and Dr Brian Buckles participated in a panel discussion exploring AI use in PME, Accreditation, and Innovation in PME. The National Defense Wargaming Center delivered two days of wargaming in the operational and strategic context, and Mr. Tim Barker ensured that our new Alumni understood the necessity of the research and writing tutors to students and the great resources now available to them as NESA Alumni.
