On 16 May 2023, the Near East South Asia Center hosted Dr. John Nagl and twelve academic year 22–23 Army War College students from Carlisle Barracks for discussions on contemporary Iranian strategy and U.S. Middle East policy under the Biden Administration. Dr. Mahsa Rouhi, from the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), delivered summary remarks on Iranian foreign policy and its nuclear program and then fielded questions from the students. NESA Center Director and Special Assistant to the President for Middle East and North Africa LTG Terry Wolff, USA (Ret.), then conducted a robust discussion on the national security decision-making process and evolution of U.S. foreign policy in the region. The NESA Professional Military Education (PME) team, Associate Dean Charles Marks and Professor Richard Wiersema, concluded the event with a brief discussion of NESA’s mission and current programs.
